Testing on these animals is their job and their form of income. If we stop paying into these companies, they will have no further reason to continue testing to sell their product. What if you find out that your favorite lipstick brand tests on on animals and you simply can’t go on without lipstick? Try finding another alternative that does not involve experiments on animals because there are a variety of cosmetic companies that do not test on animals that are safe to use. Click here for a list of companies that DO test on animals and pass it on. Spread the word to your families, friends, and the world that experimenting on animals is wrong. The best way to stop this injustice is to pass on the message and make it go viral. Let’s spread the word and try to stop experiments on animals!

Animal experimentation rests on a logical contradiction.
”

- Professor Charles R.
The first talks about how animal cosmetic ingredients are still used.
The next article talks about a line of taxidermy which has gone a little too extreme. Many cruelty-free lines of cosmetics are starting up in an attempt to stop experiments on animals. Throw out your old eyeshadows and bronzer that were tested on mice and rabbits, and invest in cruelty-free cosmetics. Click on the link below for a list of cruelty-free brands and to see:

What if we tested cosmetics on humans instead? We would have to go through the same cruel procedures as animals. No one deserves this. Although the FDA does not directly ban the utilization of animals for cosmetic testing purposes, “The FD&C Act does not specifically require the use of animals in testing cosmetics for safety” because there are many other enhanced alternatives to using our fuzzy little friends.

According to the last section of “Animal Testing” on the cosmetics page of their website:

“FDA supports the development and use of alternatives to whole-animal testing as well as adherence to the most humane methods available within the limits of scientific capability when animals are used for testing the safety of cosmetic products. We will continue to be a strong advocate of methodologies for the refinement, reduction, and replacement of animal tests with alternative methodologies that do not employ the use of animals” (FDA website).

For more information about the FDA, please visit their website at www.fda.gov.

They are locked up in cages alone and scared, awaiting their destiny to be poked and prodded as experimental specimens. They feel immense amounts of pain as they are poisoned, blinded, and abused during these harsh procedures. Why do we do this? For us, it’s more convenient to test the upcoming products on these animals rather than risk our own health or use other methods.

You may be wearing cosmetics right now as you read this. You probably haven’t taken the time to see if any animals were harmed in the making of those specific products. Do you know what all those mice, birds, or other experimental animals went through in order to wear that product on your face today? Click here to read more about the procedures of cosmetic testing on animals. The safety of your favorite mascara does not justify the death and abuse of animals.

Furthermore, testing products on animals so we can later utilize these items is ineffective. All species have different genomes which is why testing on one specie can’t predict the results of another specie. Animals are going to have different reactions to cosmetic products than we do. Not only is testing these products on animals dangerous for the little creatures at the time of experimentation, it is also dangerous for ourselves if the test results don’t accurately predict our reaction and safety toward the product.

Welcome to the “The Animalist.” Most of you would agree that harming animals is not something that you try to incorporate in your everyday lives. While most people do not make any strong attempts to put a stop to animal cruelty, they still know that it is wrong and want to stop this immorality deep down in their hearts. What is most astonishing is that many of us DO contribute to animal cruelty on a daily basis because of our lifestyles. Please take some time and look at the contents of this blog. You may be surprised at what you learn from simply browsing through these posts. Thank you and enjoy!
